About this Case Study

Challenge

To keep up with their rapidly growing student enrollment, The University of California at San Diego hired a national construction firm to build additional living and learning centers on campus. The project, however, was located near several large groves of California state-protected Torrey pines, leaving little space for the construction team to set up offices and get to work. They needed a large project management office in a tight footprint.

Solution

Having partnered with WillScot before, the construction firm quickly reached out to their local San Diego team for assistance. Within a few days, WillScot Mobile Mini delivered 84 FLEX offices and 4 60' office trailers, carefully arranged into place with the use of a crane. The offices were configured into three two-story FLEX structures and four individual 60' offices, connected by walkways and stairs.

Additionally, the offices were outfitted with The Essentials, including furniture, restrooms, private workstations, conference rooms and lunchrooms. Later, storage containers were added to the job site to help the construction workers stay organized and focused on meeting their deadlines.
