About this Case Study

Challenge

The PGA Championship, one of four major tournaments on the PGA Tour, draws no less than a few hundred thousand spectators and media from around the world. That’s why The PGA Championship turned to WillScot, a past PGA supplier, to provide them with temporary workspace for their upcoming 2019 event.

Once contacted, the WillScot New York team took only 91 days to deliver, set-up, and fully equip 80 temporary mobile offices for The PGA Championship event planners, vendors, and media outlets to begin working onsite at the 2019 event location at the Bethpage Black Course in Farmingdale, NY.

Solution

Of the 80 mobile office trailers that were provided for the event, 61 mobile offices were used by the PGA Championship for ticket booths, event operation rooms, onsite medical stations, and tech support offices. The remaining 19 mobile offices were used by media outlets such as CBS, Golf Channel, and IMG Holdings for media centers and additional workspace. To make access more convenient and secure, all the mobile offices were strategically spread out around the golf course and several were equipped with essentials such as steps, ramps, window bars, and skirting.

Our WillScot team was happy to once again partner with The PGA Championship for their annual event and provide ready to work mobile offices so that their team was able to work on their projects and execute their event plans from day one.

“I think the operation and logistics went very smoothly and the communication was great. [WillScot’s] promptness to adapt to changes were quick and swift.”
