FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE For more
information, please contact: Walla Walla Seamlessly Incorporates Innovative Construction Method Into Historic Part Of The City WALLA WALLA, WA. - August 15, 2001 / The building going up at the intersection of 5th and Alder Street in downtown Walla Walla is unlike any project the locals there have ever seen. Williams Scotsman, a national leader in the sales and leasing of modular buildings throughout the US and Canada, has put their Concurrent Constructionsm process to work for the County of Walla Walla and, more specifically, their new Public Safety Building. The County Sheriff and the County Prosecuting Attorney (and the accompanying staff for both) will share the two-story, 15,984 square foot structure. Ý Modular buildings, in Walla Walla or anywhere, aren't by any means unusual. What makes this a standout project is the attention to detail on the design. The Downtown Business Association decided the exterior of the building had to match the historical appearance of downtown Walla Walla. 14' by 22' tall windows, keystone bricks, fypons and various other architectural enhancements helped to insure no one would ever guess the new building was anything other than a traditional site-built structure. And that's just the exterior. "This is a total turnkey project. The interior has an elevator, bullet resistant glass, video security system, proximity and position monitoring door hardware, and the building is wired for cable television and data communication," said Breton Betz, the Seattle-based Major Projects Sales Representative for Williams Scotsman in charge of this project. Ý This is not the first project Williams Scotsman has completed in Walla Walla valley. Over the years, Williams Scotsman has worked with, and provided space for, St. Mary Medical Center, Department of Corrections and even the Port of Walla Walla. Williams Scotsman's reputation for excellent customer service prompted the County to contact Williams Scotsman when they opted to put up a new Public Safety Building. Construction is nearly complete, with September 14, 2001 slated as the day the building will be completed. ### Williams Scotsman, Inc., headquartered in Baltimore, Maryland, operates a fleet of over 90,000 mobile office and storage units that are leased through a network of 90 branch offices throughout the United States and Canada. The company serves more than 25,000 customers in approximately 460 separate industries. In addition to its core leasing business, Williams Scotsman also provides delivery, installation, refurbishment and other services to its leasing customers and sells new and used mobile office products and services.
